There is no such phenomena in hunting as fair play, sporting, fair chase, ethical, humane but illiminating hounding would make for a better hunting field in those terms. Until we can figure out a way for wildlife to shoot back we can try to make it more “sporting.” Sport and trophy hunting, little to no difference, disrupts families, biodiversity, and often takes the best representatives of a species, leaving the young to fend for themselves leading to more likelihood of human-wildlife conflict.
