Beginner Trapper Course to be Held in Marr Park

A beginner trapper course is set to be held in Marr Park this August. The Iowa Trappers Association and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources are putting on a beginner trapper course in Marr Park on August 1st. 

The class is free and there are no age requirements. The class will cover basics of land trapping, water trapping, as well as coyote and bobcat trapping. Participants will learn basic strategies for trapping such as proper equipment, trap placement, trapping regulations and steps for preparing hides for trade. This session will cover the history of trapping in North America, wildlife identification, regulations and several demonstration stations. This course does not provide certification.
